Espresso Steals is a small, independent site that finds genuine deals on espresso gear. We collect as little about you as we can get away with, we don’t sell your data to anyone, and this page explains — in plain English — exactly what we do collect and why.
The short version
- If you join our email list, we keep your email address to send you deals. That’s it.
- When you click a link to Amazon, Amazon (not us) sets its own cookies to credit the referral.
- We may use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits — never to identify you personally.
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
What we collect
Your email address — only if you give it to us. When you subscribe to our deal emails, we store the address you enter so we can send you the daily/weekly deals you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we’ll remove you promptly.
Basic, anonymous usage data. Like almost every website, our servers and any analytics we use may record non-identifying technical information — such as the pages visited, approximate region, browser type, and referring site — to understand what’s useful and keep the site fast and online. We use this in aggregate; we are not trying to build a profile of you.
We do not collect payment details, addresses, or account passwords — there are no accounts to create here, and we never ask for financial information. Any purchase you make happens on Amazon’s site under Amazon’s own privacy policy, not ours.
Affiliate links & cookies
Espresso Steals participates in the Amazon Associates Program. When you click one of our links to Amazon and make a qualifying purchase, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. To make that work, Amazon places cookies in your browser that tell Amazon the visit came from us. Those cookies are controlled by Amazon, governed by Amazon’s Privacy Notice, and we never see your purchase details — only whether a referral qualified. How we use what we collect
- To send you the deal emails you signed up for.
- To understand, in aggregate, which deals and pages are useful so we can improve the site.
- To keep the site secure, online, and working as intended.
We do not use your information for any purpose you wouldn’t reasonably expect from a deal site, and we don’t send marketing on behalf of third parties.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data. The only parties that ever touch it are the trusted service providers that help us run the site — for example, our email-delivery provider (so the deal emails actually reach your inbox) and our hosting/analytics infrastructure. They’re permitted to use the data only to provide those services to us, and nothing else. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the site.
Your choices & rights
- Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email — that removes your address from our list.
- Ask us what we hold about you, and we’ll tell you or delete it on request.
- Control cookies through your browser settings; you can block or clear them at any time.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. We honor those requests regardless of where you live — just email us at [email protected].
Children
Espresso Steals is meant for adults shopping for espresso equipment and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
